When your great-grandmother shopped for an evening meal, it involved stopping at several different stores. Prior to the 1930’s shoppers went to a butcher shop, a bakery, a produce vendor, and grocer to buy the various ingredients they used on a daily basis. They spent hours walking and carrying packages all the way back home (who says working women were rare in those days?)
Piggly Wiggly, an innovator in the self-service grocery store concept in 1916, along with A & P, added butchers, bakeries, and produce sections to their stores by the late 1930’s. The supermarket was a huge step in the development of modern shopping. It also increased consumers’ dependence on their cars; they could not carry all their purchases home while on foot.
Some people still follow the old-fashioned shopping model when their car needs to be serviced. Oil changes, tires, brakes, batteries, and mechanical work can all be done by specialty shops – probably over the course of several days, if not weeks! Few of us have that much time to devote to maintaining our automobiles, and even fewer of us have the patience to drive all over town to these shops.
Luckily, you have a Tire Pros location near your home or work! Tire Pros will take care of all the items mentioned earlier, along with several more. See a complete list of services available at Hay Tire Pros. We can even take care of items that are still covered by the manufacturer’s warranty, and your warranty will still be good. If your car needs something that doesn’t appear on our list, call and ask us. In some cases we can do the work, in others we may be able to recommend another shop for that service, and in some cases we can have the job done before you pick up your car, which saves you from making an extra trip to another shop. We often have customer’s cars washed or detailed, for instance, once we have finished the repairs or maintenance items in our shop. Those customers find it very convenient, since it saves them time and they only have one bill to pay (ours).
Just think of us as the supermarket for your car, truck or SUV. And, oh yeah, we can still help you get the perfect tires for your car, too.
